Active Leadership Award
Interested in Organising Sport in Your Community?
This Award is a joint initiative between the Irish Sports Council and the Sports Council for Northern Ireland. This award is designed to provide a panel of trained, knowledgeable and enthusiastic community based sports leaders, whose aim is to encourage more people to become and remain involved in sport and physical activity. The course is fully certified and covers the following topics:
- Leadership Skills
- Safety & Injury Prevention
- Code of Ethics
- Planning & Organising a 'Sport for All' session
- Programme administration.
The course is open to anyone over 18 who is interested and enthusiastic about organising sport in their community, and who is already involved with a community group who could benefit (e.g. sedentary adult groups). Specific sporting skills are not required. The training will be a practical & enjoyable experience.

N.B. This award is aimed at people seeking a multi-sport award. If you are interested in getting training in a specific sport, then please contact the relevant National Governing Body for that sport.
