Migrants in Sport

What is the Migrants in Sport programme?

In 2007, Offaly Sports Partnership secured support under the National Action Plan Against Racism to deliver a programme designed to increase participation of migrant communities in sport. Over 60 adult migrants were targeted and facilitated to participate in the sports of basketball, soccer and volleyball.

In 2009, the major funding received from the National Action Plan Against Racism was expended, but it is the intention of the Partnership to retain contact with the new communities and support their ongoing integration in sport.

For more information on the migrants is sport programme, contact Olivia Murphy (administrator, Offaly Sports Partnership) on 057 93 57462 or by email.
