Welcome to the Birr Golf Club, a wonderful 18 hole parkland course, Par 70.

The Edenderry Golf Club 18-hole course is rated as a ‘must-play’ amongst golfers. Only one mile from Edenderry town centre , and situated on the Bog of Allen, with over 130 acres of mature grounds at your disposal.

Since its establishment in 1940, the Club has built a solid tradition upheld by its strong membership community. Continued development and beatification has ensured that the course maintains its excellent all year round condition. It remains a challenge to the serious golfer but is user friendly for the less experienced.

Set in a mature parkland, the course has many picturesque views, which are enhanced by clusters of oak, beech and chestnut trees as well as stately avenues lending to a truly scenic setting.

With the Slieve Blooms in the background and a lazy stream wandering its way through the course, you will enjoy your round of golf located less than 5km south of Tullamore town.

Annaharvey Farm Equestrian Centre provides a broad spectrum of activities, catering for the Equestrian tourist.

Whether looking for a short or long stay Equestrian vacation, or just needing a horse riding holiday or mini-break away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, Annaharvey Farm can supply it.

Annarharvey Farm Equestrian Centre caters for regular local clients requiring horse riding lessons, and also the client requiring livery accommodation for their horse or pony.

Throughout the year Annaharvey Farm hosts a number of Equestrian events including Hunter Trials, Show Jumping, Irish Horse Trials Events, Breed Shows, and Riding Club Events.

Training is offered for groups of young event riders who wish to improve their riding skills.

Croghan Hill Stables is an excellent establishment where one can learn horseriding and master the skills of jumping. It is a very popular schooling venue for both horse and rider, and it prepares both rider and horse for the obstacles which they may encounter anywhere in the vuture.

It comprises of complexes including Water (4 options), Trakehner, Ski Slope, Coffin, Cart Wheel of Walls, Derby Bank, Tiger Trap etc., or simple up-rights for novice riders.

The 22 acre site is of a size and design which allows hourse and rider the opportunity of a simulated open country chase. The course is a varied and stimulating one. When a rider is capable of mastering it, they are ready to handle the most difficult terrain.

Birr Equestrian Centre has been catering to riders and horse enthusiasts for over thirty years under the direction of Noel Cosgrave and his team of dedicated instructors. The centre is A.I.R.E. approved and the instructors certified by the British Horse Society.

Aqua aerobics every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 - 8pm; and every Saturday from 11.45am - 12.45pm

Clara Community and Family Resource Centre exist to facilitate, encourage and promote policies, activities and services aimed at improving the quality of life of all age groups in Clara.

It will do this in a challenging, inclusive and enjoyable way, in partnership with the community, voluntary, private and statutory sectors.
