Cairn Community Games & Move2B Youth Leadership Programme

Fri 23rd Oct 2026

#CairnCommunityGames, in collaboration with Move2B, is inviting young female athletes to apply for its new six week Youth Leadership Programme, taking place in early 2027.

The programme is for young women aged 16-21 with an interest in sport, volunteering, or leadership. It aims to build confidence and practical leadership skills, helping participants become more involved in their clubs and communities.

Six online workshops will explore overcoming barriers, female physiology, resilience, health and wellbeing, developing your voice and positive behaviour change, with opportunities for discussion and peer learning.

The workshops take place online on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9.00pm: 20th and 27th January; 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th February 2027.

Cairn Community Games can also link participants with their local Community Games Area or County Committee to explore volunteering opportunities at events and activities in their own community.

The programme has been developed to support young women to build confidence, develop leadership skills and gain practical experience that can be applied across sport and in their wider community.

Participation in the programme, combined with 10 hours of volunteering, can also contribute towards completing the relevant requirements for a Gaisce Award, giving young people the opportunity to develop their leadership skills while working towards a recognised achievement.

Applications are open to everyone until Monday, 30th November, regardless of participation in Cairn Community Games.

For more information and to apply: Cairn Community Games Leadership Programme Application

An online information session will take place on Saturday, 7th November at 12pm, providing an opportunity to find out more about the programme. For more information, contact susan@communitygames.ie
