This club development grant scheme is designed to: -

1. assist the start-up of new clubs (e.g. affiliation, insurance, year 1 costs, etc.)
2. increase or retain the participation of women and girls in sport
3. increase the participation of underrepresented groups in sport
4. support interventions that aim to increase or sustain club membership

In launching the scheme Mr Feehan said, 

“Offaly Sports Partnership is delighted to launch our 2026 club development grant for sports clubs in Co Offaly. While the Sports Partnership’s funding is limited, we would nonetheless encourage clubs from right across the county to apply”

Mr Feehan further explained that in recent years, the guidelines for the scheme were updated to ensure that each of the three electoral areas in the county benefit equally, and that while allocations under the scheme were limited to an average allocation of €500 to €750 per successful club, even this limited funding has had significant impacts for many clubs.
