Community Enhancement Programme 2018 launched

 25 Jun 2018

The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) is a new programme for 2018, building on and replacing the Communities Facilities Scheme and the recast RAPID programme, which launched in 2017. The CEP provides funding to communities across Ireland to enhance facilities in disadvantaged areas.

The CEP is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development (the Department) and administered by the Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) in each Local Authority area.  Offaly LCDC has been allocated a total budget of €138,550 for the CEP 2018.

LCDCs are responsible for allocating funding to projects in their area as they are ideally placed to identify suitable local projects.  Funding will be allocated as follows;

  • Strand 1 – Small Scale Capital Projects: Approximately €50,000 will be available to fund small capital projects with a minimum grant of €500 and a maximum grant of €1,000.
  • Strand 2 – Medium Scale Capital Projects: Approximately €50,000 will be available to fund medium scale capital projects with a minimum grant of €5,000 and a maximum grant of €10,000.
  • Strand 3 – Large Scale Capital Projects: Approximately €40,000 will be available to fund one large-scale capital project.

Applications for funding can now be made under this Programme to the Offaly LCDC by 5pm on Monday, 30th July 2018.
