Invitation to observe a minute of silent reflection in memory of all those who suffered loss during the Great Famine
The 2018 National Famine Commemoration will take place at University College Cork on Saturday, 12th May in the presence of President Michael D Higgins.
Communities are also encouraged to hold their own local events to commemorate the Great Famine.
All public and sporting organisations are invited to observe a minute's silence at events taking place during the weekend commencing Friday, 11th May in memory of all those who suffered loss during the Famine; loss of life, loss of family, loss of home and loss of country.
