Offaly County Council invites applications under the Local Property Tax (LPT) Community Capital Projects Scheme 2026.
Offaly County Council recognises the significant contribution made by community, voluntary, sporting, cultural, environmental, heritage and other not-for-profit organisations, including not-for-profit social enterprises, in enhancing the social, economic and community life of County Offaly. Through the annual allocation of Local Property Tax (LPT), Offaly County Council has established the Local Property Tax Community Capital Projects Scheme to support significant community-led capital developments throughout County Offaly.
The scheme is designed to support significant community-led capital projects that deliver long-term benefits to communities throughout County Offaly. A fund of up to €100,000 is available under the 2026 funding round.
The Scheme seeks to support projects that improve community infrastructure; support health and wellbeing; enhance sporting, cultural, arts, heritage and environmental facilities; promote inclusion and accessibility; demonstrate strong community ownership and investment; and lever substantial additional funding from other sources.
Eligibility
Applications are invited from:
- Community organisations;
- Sporting organisations;
- Cultural, arts, heritage and environmental organisations;
- Community development organisations;
- Not-for-profit social enterprises;
- Other eligible not-for-profit organisations operating within County Offaly.
Applicants must:
- Be members of the Offaly Public Participation Network (PPN);
- Have been established and operating for a minimum of two years;
- Demonstrate appropriate governance and financial controls;
- Meet the requirements set out in the Scheme Guidelines.
Project Requirements
Projects must:
- Be capital in nature;
- Have a minimum total project value of €500,000;
- Demonstrate strong community benefit; Be supported by an appropriate funding plan;
- Be capable of delivery within the scheme timelines.

- Late applications will not be accepted.
