Offaly Local Community Development Committee - call for applications under the Community Activities Fund (CAF) 2021

Offaly Local Community Development Committee (Offaly LCDC) is now inviting applications for funding under the 2021 Community Activities Fund (CAF).

The Department of Rural and Community Development has approved €277,102 in funding for Offaly under the  programme which will be administered through Offaly LCDC and the Community and Culture section of Offaly County Council.   

The Community Activities Fund will support not-for-profit community or voluntary groups:

  1. With their non-pay running costs, e.g. utility bills (electricity costs, refuse charges, heating charges) or operating costs e.g. rental/lease costs, insurance bills). For grants towards operating/running costs, claims must be related to the period 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2022 in order to be eligible.
  2. Groups will also be able to use the funding to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities, purchase equipment, for example tables and chairs, tools and signage, lawnmowers and training equipment etc.

Offaly LCDC has agreed to ring fence up to €75,600 towards grants of up to €7,000 each to support established community playgrounds with replacement of equipment or running costs. 

Groups must have completed all works funded under previous Community Enhancement Programmes, and submitted the required documentation to Community Section to be eligible under this Fund.
