Offaly Sports Awards of the Decade

Mon 12th Sep 2016
In celebration of Offaly Sports Partnership 10th anniversary, we will be hosting an Offaly Sports Awards of the Decade gala evening on Saturday, 3rd December in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore.

This gala evening is being held to recognise and acknowledge outstanding sporting achievements by sports people from the county in the past decade (2006 – 2016 inclusive), and to also pay tribute to the significant contribution that volunteers make to the sporting culture of our county.

As a county we are fortunate to have a rich sporting tradition. Over the past ten years a considerable number of sports people from Offaly have participated at the highest levels in their chosen sports. Some are local celebrities, having competed on professional golf tours or at the Olympic Games. Others have represented Ireland with pride in international competition while many others continue to rise up the ranks of their chosen sports.

Is there someone you think is worthy of a sports achievement award or should simply be recognised for their achievements? If yes, take a look at the fifteen possible categories under which you can make a nomination on the attached form.

Volunteers are the life blood of sport. They give selflessly of their time and energy. Without them, sport could not function and our county would be a culturally deprived place in which to live. Is there someone you think personifies the very best characteristics of a true sporting volunteer and needs to be recognised as such? If yes, take a look at the three possible categories under which you can make a nomination on the attached form.

Nominations for awards will close on Friday 7th October 2016. For guidelines and nomination forms please contact the office on 057 93 46843 or 086 7948054; or alternatively contact us by email
