Cllr Robert Mc Dermott, Chair of Offaly Sports Partnership, this week announced that 53 clubs in Offaly are to benefit from two grant schemes – i. Covid19 Resumption of Sporting Activity; and ii. Club Development 2022 – administered by the sports partnership. The total fund available across the two grant schemes is €71,278.
Announcing the funding Cllr Mc Dermott said,
“the importance of sport for people’s physical and mental health can never be under estimated. We are pleased to be able to offer some level of funding to clubs and organisations that are endeavouring to resume sporting activity after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic; and to support clubs looking to develop their clubs into the future.
We are very grateful to Sport Ireland for approving this funding in our annual budget”.
